Question by Jillian: What Does this Adobe Reader error message signify?
While trying to download Adobe Reader 9, I got an “getPlus8:Error” which reads, “Can’t retrieve essential parameter 15229.305.1023″. Shouild I have had this parameter on my desktop and if so, how did I lose it and how can I get it back? I’m running Windows XP on a pc.Thanks.

If you go to the download page, and instead of following the normal procedure, click on the “if your download doesn’t start automatically click here” link (which points to ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.0/enu/AdbeRdr90_en_US.exe) that will download the full installer package, rather than using the download manager. Save the file to your desktop, and run it from there. I was having the smae problem, adn it worked for me.

What you need to do to get around that is to download the file from a direct link from Adobe website and then save it on your PC, click on that and install it from there.

Use the above link, download the file and install it from there.

Get “Foxit” reader.
Smaller, less exploits.
